Location: Eustis, FL
This image is related to the government hiring anyone with machine tool experience to build parts for them. They didn't go into detail what they made, or if this was a part of a junk yard or not. There is a lot of debris on the ground, a rake would be a good investment, along with a tetanus shot.
When I saw this I was attracted to the guy with the cutting torch. I think he was just posed there, because I didn't see a flame, but pretty sure he would have been if he wasn't being photographed. I do wonder how easy it was to light that forge on a rainy day, its under a roof, but barely. There is a nice large sheers in the background by the ladder.
The lathes, each model was different, I bet they were bought every 10 years or so going by how they were designed. Many were on belts, some had...
