There was so little information about this locomotive and location, so I only have the basics. What I do know is that this image has been in a dust storm, because it was very speckled. Took forever to get the spots out of it.
Things I like, the antlers on the front, that engineer's top hat, and his pipe. There is even a dog there.
This is the Union Pacific Eastern Division (4-4-0), Number 23, 'Apache' built by Baldwin as No. 1601 in March 1867. Later on it became the Kansas Pacific No. 23 in 1869, then was called UPRy 350, in 1885, vacated between 1889 and 1894.
The Wyoming Station, WY was on the Union Pacific RR about 11 miles from Laramie, WY.
The Union Pacific Railroad was started in 1862 as a freight hauling railroad. It was part of the First Transcontinental Railroad project known as the Overland Route.
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
