Original title: Charleston, S.C. Archibald McLeish's Vulcan Iron Works and other houses on Cumberland Street
Location: 4 Cumberland Street. Charleston SC
This one had steampunk written all over it. That sign is amazing, and from what I can tell, everything on it is real. While I suppose they could be wood replica's, I didn't see wood grain on anything. Even if it was wood, it would still be plenty heavy. I imagine that the boat anchor is a counter balance for the rest of it. But I do wonder if it fell on its own.
The street still exists, the building is naturally gone. I went with Victorian colors for the main building. Something bright and whimsical to go with the sign. The scene has too many browns and reds, it becomes monotonous after a bit. The color for the iron work, I copied from other iron work from the area, which is also green.
In some ways, this looks like the old west, and yet, the urban side of it, complete with wagons missing their wheels.
