Artist's Description

Colorized photo from 1942
Original Title: Barbershop in Mississippi
Location: Mississippi

I'm a bit unclear why on the guy on the left looks so stoned, maybe this is how he relaxes. This image has a number of light source, I count at least 2 flashes in here, on the account of the shadows. I removed the glare from the left guy, make him less shiny.

It took me a while to figure out what those lines were on the cabinet. I thought it was boards badly glued together, but in reality, i think its just pine with broad veins. I'm thinking this room, was at least 20 or more years old when they shot it. The pendent lights would be about 1920, but that lantern on the right is a little more out of place. The wiring has a lot of frays in it.

About Mike Savad

Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
