Considering how elaborate this place was, you would think someone would have made a postcard or something for it. But I guess it was designed as local entertainment and didn't really want a lot of tourists. And considering the era, white people wouldn't want to go unless they lived there already, you can see a few in the crowd.
I based the colors on Baroque Revival architecture, which seems to have favored earth tones and blue. They used a lot of gold, reds and browns, but always featured something blue. And I never made a gold and blue combination, I think it works nicely together.
As for the image, I repaired the left side, there was a weird thing going on with the sign, so I replaced that. I was going to crop it out, but it would have removed a lamp, and I wanted balance. The center lamp was off, so I turned that on with a light near by it. I did the best I could to balance the light to remove the camera flash effect. I removed near by shadows and some glare. Also took some wires out.
I would love to know why those two people in the middle have their mouth's wide open. If you want to imagine what it was like to be in that room, assume it was sparkly, and very filled with smoke.
