Original Title: US Capitol Machine Shop
Location: Washington DC
Its neat to think that Washington DC has a large set of tunnels. The tunnels connects to all kinds of rooms like this one. They maintain the Capitol and such.
This room was lit a little too well. They used at least 2 lights pointing in 2 directions. It caused bright highlights in places that shouldn't have had those things. The ceiling area was darkened in quite a bit, because the lighting wouldn't have lit it that brightly. And the lights themselves were never that bright to start with, the bulbs are pretty old, they still have that point on the end.
I wanted a look where it had a warm glow that wasn't too bright, but had that look that you got used to the light and it is bright because of that.
The drill in the center is known as a Camel back drill press (due to hump it has). They came in quite a few colors and one of them was red. It could have easily have been a green or blue color, but then it would have blended in too much with the guys and other machines.
