I don't know why, but barbershops always have had a certain kind of elegance. I guess partly because they don't change or need to change all that much. The items from 1900 can be used for a very long time, even today we use them.
This is the barbershop that's in the senate (one of them over the years). It was a private place that cut the hair of senators, they could get also get a shave, manicure and shoe shine, paid gladly by the tax payer...
Today its open to the public, no photography allowed, appointment only. From my understanding, it has a 1960's theme, probably because they don't need to update it.
For this one, I gave it a 1920's paint job, since the paint didn't look that bad in condition, I saw no over spill any place, so they probably fit lights over the paint. And paint tends to last around 20-30 years before it starts peeling. The colors back then were a rose and a green.
The chairs looked like they were a lighter color in the back, but I wanted continuity so I made them all red.
