Victorian trains are as nice as their house version. Full of color and life, and I think looked like this, as a form of showing off. Look at our fancy new train, look how shiny it is. But you can see why toys are designed after them, they look like big toys.
I had some help in the coloring dept for this one, using a group in facebook that specializes in this sort of thing.
If I had to guess lighting, I would say it was overcast or cloudy, late March maybe. A few inches of snow fell, maybe earlier in the day or the day before. And today its warm enough for it to melt and to do repairs. Mud is everywhere, snow is left in a few places. I chose dusk because I needed a good hit of color since the train is still rather dark. Something pink to go with the reds. Plus I wanted to turn the lights on.
