This is the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Depot, built in 1872. The style is of the 19th-century railroad pattern book of architecture. It measures 31x181 feet.
It remained in use until 1950 when the V&TRR ceased operations. The building was eventually bought in 1952 by the Carson City Freemasons, and then became Masonic Lodge #1. To this day, this building serves that same purpose.
The train going by is also pretty old, it was originally built in 1907. And it was used for years beyond when this was taken (at least another 10 years). It must have been really tricky getting on and off. I see no platform, and that gap looks like a real leg breaker.
