Description
This large decorated device is a Linde-Wolf Ammonia Compressor. It was build back in 1884, and is the oldest surviving refrigeration compressor in America. It was used to refrigerate beer (I mean, what else right?), and they were able to increase production from 40,000 bottles a year, to 100,000 bottles a year.
But due to its nature, there were bound to be leaks, and ammonia just isn't pleasant to breathe in. There were emergency gas masks near by should something happen to it.
