Description
This is my great grandmother's sewing room. How she loved this room, she would sit for hours in that rocking chair and just soak in the warmth of the morning sun. After which, she would mend things tirelessly. She insisted that the door be painted a bright red, because the whole room is rather bleak. Just before she died she told us that she wanted to keep a fresh coat of paint on that door every year or she would haunt us beyond the grave. As for the sewing machine, she said just let that thing die, I've always hated that danged thing.

Somehow love this photo & your story. Hauntingly beautiful! We have a rocking chair similar to, but not exactly like, the one near the window. Is our daughter's now. My grandma Ogden and grandma Krann, did sew, though most was hand done, if I recall correctly.
