Description
Colorized photo from 1905
Original Title: Clinton Square
Location: Clinton Square, Syracuse, NY
Presently this location still exists, it look totally different though. For one, there is no canal there, just a big pond, they filled that in around 1925. Most of these buildings to exist, the two large buildings on the right are still there, and because of that, I had to fill in all the dark areas they hid in the bricks, that probably would have gone unnoticed if there was no building.
There were around 10 postcards of this area. And none of them could agree on what the roof's looked like, and the Empire Hotel, they showed that one with 5 different colors. Ranging from white to red. I chose stripes for the roof, the purple might be a bit much, but I think if your going to have a roof like that and stripes, your going to get an attention getting color.
If you look carefully, you'll see 2 people washing windows (in the hotel), near by that, a glove hangs down next to a light (near the intersection), and across the ways near the banks, there is a set of people on some kind of utility truck working on the lights.
