Description
Colorized photo from 1941 July
Original Title: Five o'clock crowds
Photographer: John Vachon
Location: LaSalle Street Station, Chicago, IL
I liked the simple look of this image, people just doing there thing, some of them look quite loaded down. There is one guy, the one in the greenish pants, he's not moving, he looks distressed, like he just saw a monster or forgot his anniversary. I do wonder about him, something has him spooked.
The building behind them is LaSalle station, apparently there were two stations and this is the original. It was replaced by an office building some time after 1970. That's a weird date, but there wasn't a lot of info, I found a picture of the station as it is right here from 1970. That's how I knew the sign was white and not gold like I was going to make it as.
