When I made this, I had a really hard time figuring out what park this was and angle it was. It changed quite a bit over the years. My search was for that first statue, how hard can it be to find a guy sitting in a chair? Pretty hard it seems, because google maps didn't have anything on that spot. Seems it must have been on vacation or something. I had to do a search for the statue to give me and idea of what and where to look. Eventually I found it. There are 4 directions to choose from on this park. It sets out like a compass.
This view is north facing Charles street. For the most part the buildings are the same here, some were built in the 1830s. This park is from 1831, but the look has changed over the years. Statues were added, fountains and such as well. Today the park is dull by comparison. It's a rectangle, none of these rounded areas.
I couldn't quite figure out the season. Couldn't decide if it was early spring or late autumn. I went with autumn, as the leaves were full sized but sparse. But there are few leaves on the ground, so it was either cleaned up, or they are neat over all, or wind? In any case I made it into a fall scene.
The postcards suggested that the ground was all beige, but its clearly two toned. So I chose a tan and pink combo, and tried to keep that saw tooth look, but it was hard to keep it going, so I only did it towards the front.
