Description
These are bit brace auger bits. These have been around for a long time and can still be used today, provided you hack the end off. Old school woodworkers and cabinet makers may still use these. They create nice holes and have some large sizes, plus they don't catch as hard as more modern bits can.

My father has some of these that belonged to my grandfather and great grandfather. All of which were carpenters by trade. My dad is a retired carpenter, retiring after more than 35 years in the trade. He still uses these and will one day pass them down to my son as he unfortunately had only daughters and I gave him the oldest grandson. I always enjoy your work. V/F

thanks, bit braces are a good tool to have. they come in huge sizes and long lengths and need no power. if the end is snipped off you can use them in a cordless drill and it just rips through wood. i try not to kill to many being that they are antiques. i do have a pile of them myself.
