Original Title: Westchester Co.fair midway
Location: Westchester County, NY
Westchester County in NY had a fair on its grounds since around 1694. Though it was more of a farmers market required by law. They mostly traded livestock and hard harvest items.
Around 1890's or so they tried to make it into more of a carnival and it finally stuck that way. It was a large fair and lasted a pretty long time. It wasn't until 1920, when they started selling off their land. Much of this park became Manhattan Park and White Plains-Tarrytown Parkway project.
But all of that is in the future, we are talking about the past, this is what a fair looked like a 100 years ago. Not much in the way of rides, as this is the midway. A place for unusual games and attractions. You can buy snacks like peanuts and ice cream. Hydrogen balloons for the children, and other fun things like that.
Imagine how hot everyone was when the sun came out like this.
