Description
This is the "swan" hood ornament from a 1952 Packard. But, never call it a swan to any Packard aficionados. The original mascot called it a pelican, and it was based off the Packard family crest. Or at least that's one story.
At some point the bird was called a "cormorant", which sounds more elegant than a swan I guess. At the very least as far as hood ornaments go, it was quite blunt. It probably would not have pierced you if it ran into you.
