I just find old butcher shops interesting. Maybe its because we don't have these where I live, we have a meat section in a grocery, but nothing that really specializes.
This particular butcher specializes in salmonella. With all that chicken hanging down, in the heated air, above the lights. Out in the open where the bugs can land on it, potentially with all its innards still inside of it... Combine that with the raw meat divided by what I assume is some kind of butcher grade lettuce. All those juices running together like that, I do wonder how many got sick. It seems to be a normal thing though, in those days to hang meat out in the window or just let it dangle in the warm air.
I think those are ducks in the show case, they seem paler and smaller than the fowl hanging.
There wasn't a lot of info why they shot this, other than it was one of the stalls. There were a series of images, some pointed out the lights. So it might have to do with the lights and not the food code violations.
