This is a true story made up by me, that you are hearing for the first time and then never again.
It all started many years ago, when Vaudeville was the main source of entertainment. In those days, the acts need not be long, but they should be interesting and different. There was a fairly great magician named "Michaelus the Magnificent". He was a pretty good magician, as far as stage magic goes, he was able to draw in the crowds. But no one really talked about him after, he was just another act as far as the audience was concerned.
He went on a journey to find a trick that would "wow" the audience, something bold and interesting with a touch of humor. As he was walking, he came across a white rabbit at the edge of the forest. It was rather unremarkable looking, its only main characteristic was that it was about 15 feet tall standing up. Wowser's that is one big bunny he thought. The thought of eating him did occur to him, it would be months of food, he wouldn't have to perform magic for a while. But luckily he came up with a better idea.
He could train him, teach him magic, just one trick was enough to grab attention. It took him many months and a lot of carrots. Gave him a prop hat and one big hat on a table in the middle of the stage.
Finally the first new performance. Michaelus, performed his usual stuff, all the while that prop was on stage. He named the show "Michaelus the Magnificent and his magic rabbit".
However none of this tricks used a rabbit at all. Which of course confused the audience, as he heard them whispering where the rabbit was, he looked into the audience and said, oh sorry, the rabbit has a little bit of stage fright and is a bit shy, let me go get him. As the magician walked off the stage, a large white bunny hopped out onto the stage. This of course freaked out the audience and they started to scream and panic.
That was until he stood up and put on that hat. As everyone quieted, the rabbit would gesture his hands around as if performing a trick, walked over to the hat on stage and pulled a magician out of a hat. With a gesture of his other hand as if to say, Ta-Da, everyone stood up and cheered.
A trick so original, it could never be done again, he became world famous overnight.
