Artist's Description
Colorized photo from July, 31 1922
Original Title: Railroad wreck
Location: Laurel, Md. David Ramsey
Two trains collide while riding on the same track. One of the cars flew into the air as high as 25ft. One was carrying freight, the other passengers. Amazingly there were no deaths. The engineers jumped out just before they hit, one of them broke a leg. Both engines and 4 freight cars were destroyed. The commuters that were between Washington and Baltimore, that couldn't get a lift, had to walk to their destination (keeping in mind, they were in full suits in July).
The accident occurred at the cross-ways near Laurel. Just as the engineer jumped out, just as they touched the ground, that's when the trains collided. It closed off 50 ft of track.
About Mike Savad
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
