Colorized photo from 1907
Original Title: Cliff House fire, historic view
Location: Point Lobos, San Francisco, CA
The Story: This hotel has been rebuilt a number of times over the years. It survived a few fires even an explosion from a near by ship carrying dynamite, but this fire is what finished it off. It was an electrical fire, and luckily it was closed for renovation. Always a popular spot to be on the beach, its no surprise there are already people, and being the beach, they almost always had a photographer to take pictures of you on that beach.
The Colors: The building was very basic - white and red. And of course orange and yellow. The rocks are there today and are simply a brown color. There is a distant land on the left. I found a number of old postcards, and funnily enough, you could find both the normal and on fire versions of the same post cards.
