Original Title: Twining ornithopter, flying machine with bird like wings
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Meet Harry La Vern Twining, he created his own variation of an ornithopter. This device is designed to mimic a bird. Using nothing but his own power, pumping up and down, the wings would flap.
Today is the day he finds out it if it will fly. Camera's at the ready, they photograph this device as it starts to move. He pumps with all his might, and amazingly, he took off! Flying off the ground bit by bit, in a matter of no time he was souring over the houses and the streets, gliding from time to time.
Everyone ran out of their houses at the amazement, the thing actually flew! Then he started to descend, gracefully landing, it was quite the thrill and an amazing story.
No just kidding, this thing never left the ground, it probably bounced around a bit and fell apart. The neighbors probably laughed at him. There is no records beyond this image of what exactly happened, I suppose if it actually flew, we would be flying in them today.

Hi Mike, I was reading your discussion post "How To Critique And Edit Your Own Work For Better Sales", and wandered over to your site for a look at your work. I appreciate your pointers on photography and what to consider in images to sell, it really gives me a perspective on things to consider. In this image above, did you photograph, scan, or produce this with art supplies? I only ask to understand some of the methods being used to produce images. I am an illustrator, painter, amateur photographer and would like to understand more of the techniques used to "refine" images in photography where by the final piece is "constructed rather than shot". Thanks you in advance for any suggestions.
