Nothing quite as refreshing as a healthy dose of radiation in the morning. The X-ray, a tool used to see through things was really a changing point in medicine. No longer did people have to simply guess what was wrong with you. They could see through you.
However the early versions took a long time to process and they created a lot of radiation. Because they didn't know anything about radiation, the machines were never really protected with anything. The bulb was exposed and anyone near by was irradiated by it.
Doctors would not live as long as others. They would lose their hair or become sick with internal injuries. Skin would burn and no one would know why. Eventually they learned and now we have devices that are safer to use and uses less power than ever before.
